Ottawa
Hard to believe this extraordinary northern boreal landscape is located just minutes from Ottawa, as if 3,500 hectares fell off a truck on their way to the arctic. Mer Bleue Bog features some of the most unique biodiversity in the area, including Tamarack trees, a rare deciduous conifer whose needles change colour and fall off in autumn. What I imagine the arctic tundra would look like in early September.
