Alberta
Winter night skies in Canada are truly magical, and sadly something few people get the chance to appreciate. When the temps drop below -20, those willing (or foolish enough) to brave the cold can be rewarded with stunning views of the stars and colours (due to faint auroral activity) that are rarely found anywhere else. Clear skies in Alberta's north, almost completely devoid of light pollution, provide excellent stargazing, with pine and spruce dancing slowly in the breeze.
